"PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE"

How quickly things can change….my health is not the best at present as most of you know, I am still awaiting confirmation from the hospital as to the date of my operation.

The waiting game makes it hard to remain focussed…

But life goes on…I continue to plan for events in the future not knowing if I will be able to attend, enjoy or experience them.

My 50^th Birthday in early February….

My attendance at the “World Internet Summit” in Sydney mid February, an event that I am really looking forward to, a first for Australia with many renown industry speakers…

A seven week Holiday with family from New Zealand…three weeks in Tasmania and four weeks travelling up the East Coast of Australia….

I am not looking for any sympathy here, it just shows you how life can throw you a curve ball now and then and upset many facets of your day to day activities.

Take the “Australian Tennis Open” being played in Melbourne at present….some of  the Worlds best are here competing for the ultimate prize…yet it only takes one small thing to draw it from your grasp.

The highly favoured Venus Williams is an example….she has worked hard to reach the pinnacle in her sport and then an ankle injury early in the tournament takes away the opportunity for her to reach her goal…winning

Was Venus disappointed, Yes, but in her commentary immediately after her injury she shifted her focus to the next event, I can’t look back, I must now regain my strength and prepare for my next game she said.

If you continue to work on the positives and plan for future you can overcome many obstacles….easily putting aside the negatives, as the will to go forward can be very strong if you put your mind to it.

Maintaining a positive attitude can and will allow you to achieve, be it in day to day life, sport, business….whatever

Now if I could only work out a way to use these principles to get excited about my upcoming “Birthday”
