Hi All,

Here's your opportunity to give your Blog a plug, assuming you have one, but first a few questions? Cool

a) What is the URL for your Blog?

b) What prompted you to start your Blog?

c) What area of interest does your Blog cover?

d) Is your Blog set up as an income stream or information only?

e) Are you receiving good traffic to your Blog?

f) Has your Blog met or exceeded your expectations?

g) How frequently do you post?

h) Have you set up your Blog to publish feeds?

i) What platform are you using and why, ie: Blogger, Wordpress etc?

j) How long has your Blog been active?

Enough for now... Rolling Eyes

Let's hear it Guy's, tell us about your Blog!!!

I'll tell you about my family of Blogs in another post Smile

Cheers Wink

Wow, Kevin, that's a lot of questions on blogs... Smile Let's see if I can answer them all....

*deep breath*

My blog is at: http://www.liztomey.com.

I started my blog because everyone kept asking me if I had one. I was seeing blogging and rss EVERYWHERE. So the techie in me just had to get up to date and get one.

My blog covers my business progress of my online business. No, it's not a salesletter. Just updates about every part of business. From promotion and techniques to product creation and unique advertising methods. I also comment on things I see going on in the Internet marketing world, often go off on rants about those things.. Mad

Hopefully some day my blog will generate money. That's not why I created it though.... I would like for it to be a learning spot for newbies.

I have no clue how much traffic my blog gets. I still don't know how to track visitors with it.

At the start of the year I made a new years resolution to post daily. Well I've broken that one... Let's say I try to post daily.

My blog has been awesome. It has helped me focus MUCH better. It's almost like I'm having to account to the world what I'm doing with my time while working since I use it for my business.

Publish feeds? Umm.... If you mean people can get my feeds in there feed readers, yes... I'm still trying to learn how to syndicate content though...

I use blogger because I fought with wordpress for 2 days. Blogger lets me publish to my server. Now I wish I wouldn't have used blogger. In my cpanel in my hosting, all I had to do was push a button and it would install wordpress for me... That red head temper gets me every time... *lol*

I've had my blog a little over a month I think...

Can't wait to hear what the rest of you have to say!

Liz

Hi Kevin,
a) What is the URL for your Blog?
http://blog.homebusiness-websites.com
b) What prompted you to start your Blog?
I got interested in it in 2000 as a way to be able to syndicate content and headlines, but gave it up in 2001. Then in the summer of 2004 I noted it was starting to catch on. I like the interactivity (like my forum) and found it was a good way to being in extra traffic.

But... even more then that I like to have a place to dump random thoughts and ramblings that don't really fit anyplace else Wink
c) What area of interest does your Blog cover?
Anything related to business use of the Internet.
d) Is your Blog set up as an income stream or information only?
I don't want commercialization to be the reason why people stop visiting my blog. I use it for information only, in the hopes of accelerating relationships with my site visitors
e) Are you receiving good traffic to your Blog?
I guess the answer to this would be relative to what each of us perceives to be good traffic. But I can honestly say I'm happy with the extra traffic it is bringing in, and it seems to be growing monthly.
f) Has your Blog met or exceeded your expectations?
I would say it has exceeded them. From my past experience of blogging when it wasn't "cool" I wasn't expecting the extra boost.
g) How frequently do you post?
I try to do it every day, but it doesn't always work out that way.
h) Have you set up your Blog to publish feeds?
Of course!
i) What platform are you using and why, ie: Blogger, Wordpress etc?
Movable Type. After being away from blogging for awhile I asked Paul Short to recommend something to me. This is what he suggested. Paul is very knowledgeable about blogs and just launched his own blog consulting company today.
j) How long has your Blog been active?
This new blog I'm using has been setup since October 2004.

Best Regards,

Hey thanks for asking Kevin Wink
a) What is the URL for your Blog?
http://www.BlogLogic.net
b) What prompted you to start your Blog?
A huge demand for information on business blogging
c) What area of interest does your Blog cover?
Blogging for business
d) Is your Blog set up as an income stream or information only?
Both
e) Are you receiving good traffic to your Blog?
Not a lot yet, but the visitors I do have are of the highest calibre Cool
f) Has your Blog met or exceeded your expectations?
It's exceeding my expectations so far.
g) How frequently do you post?
1 - 3 times per day, sometimes more. I predict I'll be "power posting" soon. There's so much going on in business and corporate blogging circles right now my head is spinning.
h) Have you set up your Blog to publish feeds?
Cool
i) What platform are you using and why, ie: Blogger, Wordpress
etc?
WordPress. I'm already using MovableType on another blog (it's amazing) and wanted to get my hands dirty with another blog platform and some heavy usage.
j) How long has your Blog been active?
Just a few days.

Kevin, I hear you have a new blogging project in the works. I have some ideas you may be interested in Wink

Hey Guy's,

Some great responses to my original post...keep them coming!!

I note however that there are a few common themes developing here in particular relating to RSS, Tracking and other technical details that contribute to the successful running of your Blog.

I will let Paul Short, The Blog Guru know about about your queries and ask him to clarify for you all.

Cheers Wink
