I have been away from the Forum for a period but I have for sometime noted an issue of concern not only here but on other forums as well...
Why is that people register, make a single post or maybe two asking questions seeking help with many and varied online issues, the good people of the forum respond with assistance... yet the poster never returns to offer thanks or shares the results they may have achieved by using the tips and suggestions offered.
Personally I believe that this is very rude and inconsiderate, what do you think?
Regards

Trevor,
You make a very valid point, forums are a great venue for exchanging ideas, experience and knowledge yet many that participate don't seem to acknowledge the value provided through this medium.
Maybe it is time for change, perhaps more forums should become paid membership sites, this would no doubt limit participation but most likely would lift the quality?
I personally have gained a lot from this forum and a few others and I'm grateful for the assistance I have been offered...
Regards

I agree that some forum users seem to lack the decency to thank those that have assisted them.
I feel that as most see forums (In fact the Internet as a whole) as a source of free information then common courtesy is not required.
It's all about the lack of visual contact, users hide behind their computer monitors and most likely wouldn't consider asking the questions they do on a face to face basis...
Think about it, why do many forum users register and post under names other than their own?
Lucky
P.S: I guess I need to change my log in name!!! |

Interestingly many that register on the forum do nothing else but register, many never confirm their email address and consequently their registration is deleted.
Every day I have to delete dubious registrations, If you Google their forum names often you will find they are registered on hundreds of forums but they have never made a post, I am at a loss to know why they do it, is there a competion around for those with the most registrations?
Anyway I try to keep the forum clean, tidy and free of time wasters and I hope that the genuine members here appreciate it.
Cheers
