| Does it make sense to write a press release for new ebooks? What is the purpose of press releases? Is it mainly to gain a backlink, or are there other benefits that I'm overlooking. I've been looking at some free online press release sites and wondering if I should use them. |

| It's a bit of both really. A press release does wonders for SEO and will definitely get the word out about your eBook. It's probably the "legal" way to purchase links now. |

In most cases any publicity is good publicity but as I understand it Press Releases can be somewhat difficult to get published.
News services want to be first with something new so provided your book deals with a subject that has wide appeal and offers something different to everyone else then it has a chance of being published.
Regardless of this you should share your message with as many as possible...
Cheers

Has anyone used Clickbank.com
I stumbled across this site and you can either put your digital work on there to be sold by others and split in the profits, or be the person who advertises the product and gets a share. It is really cool sounding. Does anyone have any experience using this site? |

Jean,
Clickbank is a long standing operation that acts as a intermediary if you like where it manages the sale process of mostly ebooks.
They list the ebooks on behalf of the writer and manage the transaction process where they provide the purchaser with a secure payment environment.
Obviously Clickbank takes a fee from the writer to manage this process but it is a very economical system.

| By managing the process, Clickbank is the one that tracks whether the sale actually took place or not? I would think that would be hard to track and is there anyway to prove you are getting paid for true referrals? I am reading more about the company before I jump into anything. So far I have found good stuff though. |
