Hey I was wondering if anyone owns domain names and parks them to create revenue from the ad clicks? I have recently bought several domain names and have parked them at Sedo. Within a day they have already received clicks. Also I have been thinking of selling some of these domains so if they are making some sort of revenue I figured they would be worth more.

Yup! Any time I buy a domain name I park it until I am ready to do something with it or sell it. If it starts generating income you can sell it for more...the value goes up.

Hey I checked my stats today and I have earned .40 cents. LOL, not a whole lot, but I guess the longer they sit there the better they will do. I might as well generate a little income until I decide what to do with the sites.

didn't business.com just sell for 300 million???? Seems there is a very strong market for parked domains!
Wish I had thought of that 15 years ago!

No kidding! Domain buying and selling is huge right now. A couple of weeks ago, travel.info sold for $116,000 at Sedo. Had I known about domains when people were first buying them I would have bought more. I never envisioned virtual realestate would be worth so much money.

I was just looking into services for parking domains and found that godaddy does it, but for a monthly fee. Does anyone use their service, and what is the advantage as opposed to using Sedo, which I see is a free service?

I have a friend that uses both Sedo and godaddy. He doesn't like the interface for godaddy and preferrs sedo. I have all of my domains at Sedo and have been pretty happy. The only thing with Sedo is you have a limit of 50 domains. Godaddy has umlimited

So I parked a few of my domains and guess what? I made $.51 cents. I am going to the bank with it! LOL. It is better than just sitting there doing nothing. I figure the longer it is up the revenue it will create.

Typically if you can buy a bunch of domain names and park them for a year or more you will actually see more and more revenue. I know a guy who has about 2300 domain names parked. Think if he made a dollar a day off each domain...even a dollar a month off each site. That is what I am talking about!
