|
|
I currently have two ebooks for sale. They are in the same niche. They are aimed at beginners in the niche, but one is a general overview and one covers a specific technique.
The general ebook is priced at $27.
The specific ebook (not long, I call it a guide) is $7.
After I tweak the sales pages a bit, I want to start promoting using adwords. I am planning on promoting the $7 guide and making the general ebook the upsell.
Does it make sense to have the main product be the cheaper one and the upsell to be more expensive, or should I promote the main product and make the guide an upsell? |

Well that depends... Here is what I see:
=> If you if the guide goes first for $7, you'll probably have more sales upfront because it is cheap but then when they see the other ebook for $27 they would hesitate to buy because it seems expensive at this point.
=> If the General ebook goes first for $27, people might not buy it because they might think that it is a little bit expensive, although if it has the info they are looking for I'm sure they'll buy it. Then they see the guide for $7 and they might buy it because it is cheaper or they might not because they already paid $27 for something that should suffice them. |

Hi Pamela,
I can show you an example of how someone else does an upsell successfully.
If you go here:
http://www.cancerbreakthroughusa.com
Click one of the order now links and choose either the digital or printed version -- it doesn't matter which one.
Then you are transferred to their shopping cart (uses 1shoppingcart.com) where you are presented with the upsell, where you can receive the second book at 25% off the cost. They can either click the link to add that to their cart too, or continue below to fill out the form for their original order.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,

| Is there some sort of software out there that allows you to set up auto download, once a payment is complete? I have sold a few things digitally, but delivered the product within 24 hours via email. This sometimes is a bay route to go with all of the junk mail and bulk mail folders that emails can get thrown into |

It would depend on your ordering process. For example, if you're using 1shoppingcart, it supports digital delivery. Right after someone has bought a window appears and prompts them to download their item. I think this feature is limited to the pro package.
The download URL expires after a bit so they can't share it with other people.
