| I've been looking into several affiliate programs and was curious if anyone uses Amazon? After reading some of the posts on what people like I'm wondering about it. I was already concerned when I read that they only pay quarterly. Any opinions? |

It is my understanding that Amazon payouts are very low, in the order of 2% to 5%.
I might be mistaken in this but if I was you I would seek out some suitable programs offering a better return.
Clickbank for instance has payouts up to 80% and given the amount of work in making a sale higher % payouts do assist.

Definitely depends on your site. I use Amazon affiliation, and don't make A LOT, but enough for me to keep it on my sites.
I'd sign up with some other affiliate systems to see how that goes for you. Paying quarterly isn't great - so you'll have to really make up for it in volume. |

Amazon in my eyes is just an add on for your website or blog, having a site relevant link to them is fine but don't expect the returns from it to pay your bills.
Low and infrequent payouts don't excite me, I'm looking for something more worthwhile...there are plenty of other Affiliate merchants around that offer a similar choice to Amazon but with far better returns.
Just my two cents.

I just signed up to be an Amazon affiliate. They now pay monthly instead of quarterly.
What I like about Amazon: easy to get approved (I was approved before my website was up), people trust purchasing from Amazon, people often buy multiple items from Amazon, and they have a wide selection.
What I don't like about Amazon: 24-hour cookie (though this can work to my advantage as well), commissions can be low, there are many other Amazon affiliates.
I'll be testing them with some of my review sites. |

| I've been in the Amazon Affiliate Program for a while now but I kind of gave up already because it is hard for me to promote my online store and they only pay about 4% on commissions. |
