As we have a reasonable number of accomplished writers as forum members I thought we may be able to obtain some feedback in regards to article submission sites.
If you wanted to submit some marketing related articles for the purpose of promoting your name and URL where would you suggest one should go?
Obviously I would be interested in sites that you have used and some comment as to why you would recommend them
Cheers

Hi Steve,
That's quite a list you have provided...Thank You
Can any of the other forum members here expand on Steve's list and or pass comment on article submission sites that have worked for them?
Cheers

Kevin,
I have a very long list of places to submit articles. I am currently working on a membership site for article writing and submission. My list is currently in database form, but as soon as I extract all of the information, and get it on a webpage, I'll be glad to send you a link. |

Hi Kelly,
I look forward to your site launch...It is a great idea and I can assure you it will be popular, quality sites covering this area are few and far between.
In the interim would you care to share perhaps a couple of URL's for submission sites that you think are worthwhile?
Cheers

If the moderators allow can I shamelessly add
http://authorcontent.com.
Shamelessly because I host this site.
If it is against the rules you can delete the post.
But I thought it is relavant to the topic.

Out of curiosity, do these sites pay for article submission? If so, what's the roughly the rate?
Thanks, Julian |

ASPro is great for quick results.
I think they now have over 900 article directories and sites.... however submitting to them all takes for ever so I just stick to the ones with page rank ranging from 1 to 7.
To get the best benefits on the se's change the article name every 15 to 20 posts and also your resource box and anchor text.

Chris,
As one that is still on a steep learning curve could you please explain:

In simple terms for me please?
Regards

Hi Peter,
Not a problem...
This is the basics that I keep to with article promotion/distribution...
I use three diffrent types of articles.
1. Long articles (1200 to 1600 words) for submitting to high page rank and well known sites.
These sites usually require longer articles but the pay off is that your articles are placed on very high pr pages within your business field. I either write the articles myself or have them written.
2. Shorter articles (400 to 700 words) I usually write myself. Good for on topic sites that request article submissions and the article directories as explained in this thread.
3. Plr articles. I usually buy these in bundles, some I re-edit, some I do not. I only submit these to the article directories.
Just some key points, now back to your question....
The reason you make slight changes in the title is for two reasons.
1. Get more hits
2. Make the SE's see that your link is on many and varied different named website pages... although being the same article.
People always type in different words when looking for the same information. With a little keyword research by changing your title you will get more people reading your article and thus visiting your site.
Changing your anchor text....
Again, this helps with diversifying hits from different keywords.... and keeps the SE's happy so they don't penalize you for just chasing one keyword/phrase.
For example:
Lets say I wish to rank well on "growing bamboo"
I write my article and send it off to the top 100 article directories for listing.
What I would do is send the article to 30 directories with the keyword "growing bamboo"
Previous to this I would research my keywords and find the top... lets say 20 to 50 other bamboo keywords that have the best "high demand and low competition".
I would then send the article to the other 70 directories however changing the keyword/phrase every 5 submissions to another of my keywords researched above. I may even change the title to match as close as possible on of the researched keywors/phrases.
The point being....
If your article shows up in top 10, 20, 30 or even 100 positions for the one serch term on different article directories, they searcher is only going to read it once.
Therefore why noy have it just show up in the first two or three positions, and then have it show up on another 10 different keyword seraches... this way to get many more readers and many more hits to your site.... plus your link on many differently named pages and avried anchor texts to keep the SE's very happy.
All while still working on optimizing your given "main" keywords.
I hope that explains...
Cheers, Chris |

I appreciate the clear and detailed response.
That's what I like about this forum, everyone is happy to help and share what they have learnt
I only hope that as I become more experienced I will be able to return the favour

I read the posts on the article archives and I am still very confused on how it works.
OK I make dolls, have doll patterns and teach dollmaking online.
Do I write an articel about whta I am working on, or what I am interested in.. I am so lost.
I know it should be easy but it seems confusing to me.
can someone email me and teach me about this......... |
