Why submitting articles is the best way to advertise?
Articles are becoming a mainstream way of advertising for websites.
Business owners have discovered that submitting articles to article directories has many benefits for their business. Writing a good, solid article and submitting it to an article directory offers much more than the typical advertising campaign.
Submitting articles to article directories allow a business owner to promote their business without seeming overly pushy or having to outright sell to customers. A good article is written to provide information not to be promotional. Submitting a good article will help build the business owners credibility in their area of business.
It will also help them to become established as an expert in their field. Article directories supply articles to a variety of web site owners and an article submitted could be used by many different website owners providing the business with many marketing outlets.
articles directories allow writers to include their name, business name and information. This allows anyone who reads the article to quickly access their website. Articles are a great form of free advertising that take a small effort to set up and distribute.
Article directories are a great way to get a business recognized. A business owner who seems informed about their business and their customers will get a boost in sales. People like to buy from someone who knows what they are doing. Writing articles lets customers know the business owner is doing more than selling a product, they are selling a product they understand and believe in.
And I think the most easy way to get free traffic on your website is to submit your own written articles on different websites. Visitors daily read new articles and are happy to visit author's website. I do the same and i am getting much better traffic than any other promotional method. |

Ok so let me get this straight I write an article about my online class and what its about, but not outright advertising. just general information on the course itself.
I give a link for people to find out more?
But where do I find these article directories?

I found a list of article directories here:
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art12838.asp
It would be best if you're submitting articles to provide relevant information and not make it an advertisement for your site. Places that accept articles typically provide a place for "About the Author" where you can leave a link to your website.
Here is an example:
A couple of years ago I wrote an eBook. Part of my marketing strategy to get the website listed in the search engines and make additional sales was by submitting articles. Here is one of the articles I submitted to numerous directories:
http://www.businesstoolchest.com/articles/data/20040906124136.shtml
You will see at the end, that there is a resource box where I included information about me and the website I was promoting.
Over-all, the article just gets people thinking... and it just so happens that the link I left in the resource box might be a possible solution for some...
Hope this got you thinking
Best Regards,

Hi Steve,
Long time no chat
I must admit I've read a bit lately about articles not being a very good way to encourage visitors to your sites, but I have to be honest - I've written a few articles and posted them on a bunch of article directories, and the traffic has always been welcome.
The beauty of posting an article is that it can be visited for months, even years to come, and still keep sending visitors your way. Visitors who are potential clients.
So I agree - writing articles is a worthwhile exercise, especially if you like to write.
Another tip for articles - write a 'success' story about one of your clients [ask them to give you the ok] - human interest stories which show [1] a solution to a common problem, and [2] a real case study, are a great way to bring attention to your business.
Here are just a couple of mine:
My Pantihose Have Been Googled [47 times now online]
Backup Schmackup! I'm Afraid, Very Afraid! [now on 1,100 sites]
5 Fast Tricks for Keywords & Traffic [128 times]
Do a Good Deed and Blow Your Own Trumpet ... Quietly! [57 times]
As you can see from the list, the number of times each article appears in Google differs - depending on the popularity. Other search engines give different results, but you can see that spending time to write just one article can have long-term good results.
Good luck Trevor, let us know when you've posted an article!
Cheers

| I've written articles to publicize my novel and my freelance business and haven't noticed that they made much difference to my sales. Maybe I just wasn't posting in the right places. |

| I article write with links to content on my site and from my site to the article. I get tremendous results by cross referencing like that. |

| I've been writing articles for some time, but never to actually do advertising of some sort. But I thin k they are effective, because people are more into reading an article than into checking out "open" advertisement. |
