|
|
I am currently working on completing an Automotive based eBook and associated Dvd that I hope to start marketing soon.
However I am yet to select a domain name for the new site.
Apart from the eBook and Dvd I will also be offering some other automotive books and hard goods from the website.
At present I am working on the keywords, Drive, Motor and Auto with derivatives of the word Works as well.
ie: Autoworks.com - Autowerks.com etc both already taken, but you get the idea.
I was wondering if you could all put forward your best suggestions...I am open to any ideas, so let's hear them.
Cheers

Hi Steve,
The main keywords relating to this site will be:
Carparts
Autoparts
Car Problems
Car Repairs
Motorparts
Motorworks
Car Driver
Autoworks
The word "Works" is quite important.
Let's hear your suggestions.
Cheers

Hi Kevin,
What about carproblemsrepaired.com?
It is easy to remember and targets three key words.

Hi Kevin,
It looks like "Autopartsworks.com" isn't taken .
The green thing? I was thinking it shows people that don't know me that I have a sense of humour, which is sometimes evident in my posts.
Do you think it is a lame idea to use it? I wasn't too sure...
BTW: there seems to be a little problem with this board. When someone responds to your messages, it isn't sending out the notification by email anymore. I would check your path to sendmail in the script or the new smtp server.
Best Regards,

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the domain name idea...we are getting somewhere now!!!
As for the little green man...I always knew you had a sense of humour, it's just that it's a little bit like mine, it doesn't come out very often
Working on the board glitch...the change of host has had a influence on a couple of things, will be sorted shortly.
Cheers

Hi Kevin,
I don't think the hyphens make any difference to search engines. They seem to be able to distinguish the separate words well enough. If you will be advertising it 100% online, then I would go with the hyphenated name, because it is easier for people to read.
But... offline advertising, or talking to people and giving them the URL over the phone, at a meeting etc... they forget the hyphen too quickly. If you are going to do any radio advertising... you definitely don't want hyphens in there.
Best Regards,
Steve MacLellan

Uhmmm
how about carworks, or carworksnetwork
ok, possibly not brilliant, but hey, I tried
These domain naming idea generators might help more though
(I took them out of my article about creating a domain name)

Hi Kevin,
I agree with Steve - and I'd suggest you buy BOTH.
Use one for your online advertising where the hyphens make it easier to read, and use the other for print and offline advertising where people are less likely to remember hyphens.
Have one domain name redirect to the other.
Perfect!
Cheers

Hi Kevin, it's been 8 months since I last checked in on this top - how's the website going?
It looks really fresh and smart, is it performing well?
Do you need to spend a lot of time on it?
Looking forward to an update,
Cheers

Hi Teena,
It continues to be a work in progress, unfortunately progress has been slow lately.
The site has undergone a few changes as I try to develop it into something that I like...Interestingly it has provided me with a steady Adsense income, albeit small but very consistent.
Anyway thanks for the prompt, I will get to working on it again soon!!!
Will keep you posted.
Cheers
