I am fairly new to Marketing and this is just one of the quality forums that I frequent.

But one thing that I find disturbing is the amount of posters that ignore the rules and don't practise good forum etiquette.

The webmasters of quality forums and this is clearly one of them provide a venue for like minded individuals to learn about marketing and therE is a cost in providing this service.

We all need to respect the fact that they offering us a great opportunity for interaction but they should not have to spend a considerable amount of their valuable time moderating the forum to filter out the junk posted by those who don't seem to care what they do.

It does not matter how you look at it but they are simply spammers that have no regard for others.

Surely it is just not me that feels this way?

I Thank You Kevin for caring enough for us newcomers and continuing to keep this great forum going, you obviously have considerable patience.

So to all the legitimate posters here let's get in behind Kevin and support his great forum because I for one would not like this service to cease because of a few inconsiderate and rude individuals.

Regards

Good post Keith...

And you are right... it is a very good forum... and I must say that Kevin is very tolerant which is a great attitude to have.

Although I am a moderator... I must say I don't have the patience as Kevin does... Smile

One of the main problems is with the advent of "automated posting forum software". And as for the rest, it's usually new, inexperienced people who think they can get away with it and have no blue clue how a good forum can give much vital information.

I'm sure as the forum builds over time, which both me and Kevin are working on... it will continue to grow with decent experienced joining and helping out.

That being said we already have some very experienced people here already in many different areas.

The best attribute of this forum in my own mind is the help factor, something of which Kevin and I have discussed over the phone many times.

We are both agreed that helping people really get where they want to be online is much more important than selling quanties of product.

I think it is very important when trying to make money (online or off), not to let your morals become blurred in acheiving that end. Something that many do when starting out.

As with anything in life.... all things similar are drawn to each other. So I am sure this will be the same with the current people here and the overall feel of the forum itself.

Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris & Keith,

I must say that my tolerance towards those that blatantly spam is starting to wear thin.

I have provided ample warning in terms of messages on the forum in regards to the rules we run by but unfortunately there are always those who don't care and ignore them anyway...they choose to use the curtain that is in the internet to hide behind but I bet that if we were in a face to face meeting offline I know who would run first...

Automated Forum Posting Software is a real issue but I don't want to close down the site so much as it restricts the genuine poster from calling regularly.

However be aware that the access process to the forum may change shortly and whilst this may present an initial inconvienence it will do much to ensure the quality of the posts remain high.

I thank all of those regular and genuine posters for their patience and understanding as we work through this, I can assure you that my resolve will win out in the end.

Cheers Wink

unfortunately.

People who spam fora do it for their own selfish reasons, and no no well-expressed and reasoned explanation why NOT to do it is going to register with them.

I haven't been here very long at all, but I have to say that I'm very impressed with the efforts to keep the forum spam-free here. Good work! I'd assume that 50% of spam postings are probably people who didn't bother to read rules (or didn't "get it") and the other half those who just don't care as long as their spam is seen.

Spam (and forgive me, I always chuckle when I see the word because I think of canned spiced ham!) is one of those unfortunate internet wastes. I used to moderate chat rooms where folks would come in with auto dialers and just fill up the room with text. For what reason, I never understood.

I've only just begun reading through this site and I am very impressed. Keep up the good work, Kevin!

In my mind those that participate in these kinds of endeavours are...

- Ignorant Mad

- Rude Twisted Evil

- Selfish Confused

- And spineless individuals that in the offline world are most likely very different, it is just that they can hide online and they get some kind of fascination from annoying others.

frankly, I put a lot of the blame on the younger generation being allowed online without adequate supervision - they go and do anything they want and know that nothing is going to happen to them.

and rare is the parent who supervises what they do online.

I might suggest that some of forum posters are not so young and definitely know what they are doing...

I am sure they see it as a fun thing to do and the fact that it raises the ire of many never enters their mind.

Justice generally prevails though and somewhere in their life they will pay the price for their lack of consideration for others!!

Nothing I do seems to halt the flow of visitors that continue to ignore the simple rules of the forum.

The time I spend managing the forum to keep it tidy and in order is growing all the time.

If anyone has any ideas as to how we could limit those that waste our time then I would be pleased to hear from you.

Cheers Wink

I have currently got the forum tied down as securely as possible at present...any further changes are likely to impede those genuine posters that visit regularly.

It is a difficult situation but I am not about to be beaten, keeping this forums intregrity and credibility intact is my goal and as long as my regular posters continue to support this view then the battle will go on.
