What is the best way to confirm if an idea I have for an eBook will be successful or not?
Peter. |

I think that this is a really good question. Keep in mind that many industries, not just e-books deal with this issue. I would think about that in particularly.
It would seem to me that bringing up the idea on forums would be a good way. There are many intelligent people on a forum like this, who can give you a lot of insight as to whether or not your idea is worthwhile.
I would also look into what other media has been published on your topic. Is the marker saturated, or do you have something really great to offer?

Peter,
Perhaps restricting yourself to a eBook format may not be the best.
There are numerous other options in terms of product delivery and whilst this response may not immediately assist you in choosing your topic it may add to your thought process.
Consider, Audio, Video and other mediums as well for your potential client base may prefer one of these formats.
Just my two cents.
Cheers

Research similar products offered by your competitors and see if you can determine their success. If you have the similar credentials to be an authority on the topic, can provide it at a cost close to what the market is currently paying for this information, then there is a good chance you can write a successful eBook.
Some of the success will be based on how well the eBook is marketed. Again, examine the competition to see how they are marketing their products. Are they using lists, joint ventures, affiliate programs, directory listings, off-line promotions, etc...?
Best Regards,

| easedrop on forums and see what's being talked about and what's hot/what's not... maybe put out feelers about if someone would want to pay for it and all that, but don't tip your hand! |

| another thing might be to check on Amazon to see if similar books have been written and if so, how they're selling - or start chatting with your potential audience and see if they'd pay for the info! |
