|
|
You may of noticed that in recent times a number of people are offering their services as link builders...
They undertake to provide you with a set number of one way links for a set fee all delivered to you in double quick time.
Now whilst we all appreciate the value of links I would ask that you consider the issue carefully before you sign up for one of these services.
Why you may ask?
It is simple really, You have no control over where they place your link and maybe they will deliver the number they say but they are of little value of you have 100 links placed on sites about gambling when your site is about patchwork quilts as an example.
Links need to be placed on sites that are complimentary to your own, that is; sites that are focussed on products or services very similar to your own.
Just be wary, quick and simple is not always best.
Cheers

Hey Kevin,
What do you think of services that offer 150 directory submissions and the like for $10 or so.
Is it worth it to submit to all these directories? Also how can you track if they really did submit to all the directories that they promised to? |

The problem as I see it is simple...
These services can provide you with a list of sites that they have submitted to but are you going to go out and check on them all yourself?
I don't think so.
Remember that automated software can do a lot these days but the result you get is consistent with what you pay...
My personal opinion is that you should make any submissions yourself, it may be time consuming but at least you will know if the site is relevant before continuing.
Cheers

Hi guys,
Yes, directories should be submitted to by yourself.... this allows you to know that it has be done and it also allows you to submit to the best category for page rank benefit.
For much better ranking and hits to your site, submission to on topic business directories is also important. Some even claim they get more sales from such directories than the major SE's.
Buying links is fine however you must have experience in knowing what to ask for... where your links are place, no black hat sites/techniques, different ip ranges if possible, not article directories, etc.... or SEO experience.
Talking of directories and submissions, my SEO membership site is know offering discounts and rebates on top ranking software including directory submission software..... but you will need to get in fast as the price will be doubling at the end of the month due to this other benefits jsut having been added.
Cheers, Chris. |

I would be interested to have comments from those that may have outsourced their link building.
Chris, If I recall you have tried this, would you be able to give us details on the success or otherwise in regards to your experience?
What was the cost, were they one way links etc, etc?
Cheers

Hi All,
Here are my general rules on link building....
1. Reciprocal link! They still hold value as the SE's are constantly and will change their algorithms. See my newsletter article "The Future of Search Engine Rankings" - http://www.thewebtrafficco.com/ecommerce-web-traffic-monthly/18-04-06.html
2. Place your links on directories, edu sites (google love them), sites not relevant (small percentage), same business relevance sites and "exact same topic sites (as many as possible)
3. Vary the pr of sites where your link is placed.
4. Make sure you have both one way and reciprocal links, not just one or the other.
5. Keep you linking campaigns constant. Add roughly the same amount of links ecah month to keep the SE's happy.
6. Linking is a slow laborious job unless you have many months/years of experience actually doing it.... therefore always outsource.
7. Do not use popular linking services, most are a rip off by a long mile.
8. If using sites like elance.com, do not pick the cheapest price! The whole point of outsourcing is so you don't have to worry about quality and the job being done properly.
The main thing is finding someone that will do the job right, is reliable and will do it at a good price.
If they do a great job, look after them.
9. Stipulate down to the last letter what your linking campaign must and must not include.
The first few linking campaigns I had done I wasn't very happy with. I then did a fair amount of research asking around until i found someone I was happy with.
My last campaign was... "100" reciprocal links, same business area, minimum pr of "2"..... Results...
Nearly all sites in my business field
Very few "link" type sites, mostly decent content sites
10% in the exact same business field
Pr of pages where my link was placed.... pr 2 = 57, pr 3 = 37, pr 4 = 9... plus an extra 10 links.
All links are permenant
Cost = US$200
So if your thinking about linking, I highly suggest you outsource! If you would like more detailed info on the subject anhd are looking to seo your site, take a look at my seo training video membership below....
Cheers, Chris. |
