eBay is a wonderful outlet to raise a bit of cash from those unwanted things you have lying around the house...

We all know that the obscure and weird items often fetch the best prices but we all don't have one of these to offer everyday so my question is this.

What common or everyday regular item consistently sells on eBay?

Your feedback please.

Cheers Wink

For me, it's second-hand books: atiquarian and academic.

For the non-day-to-day things, it's Japanese textiles, books, manga, and other Japanese things.

really depends on the market -if you price it low enough, it will sell... video games and items that are pretty well "unbreakable" will stand longer than delicates, imo.

One thing that does consistently sell like hot cakes:

Open University (UK) Maths and Physics courses. I have put a few of these up for sale, (second hand), and the demand for them has been so high, that people have bid up to about GBP 50-60 per course.

Also, second hand National Extension College Maths courses have sold well.

Along with that, college bookstores have a thing for selling at a price then everyone else. I always saved a bundle when I could get my books on ebay.

The advantage to selling textiles by mail order sites such as eBay is that textiles are so easy to post.

Breakable items are more tricky to sell online. For example, someone has asked me if I would be interested in selling a large collection of jazz records online, but the problem is posting/mailing them.

And the packaging costs a fortune.
