Hi Everyone,
This is my first post.
I have 4 regular websites (2 educational and 2 marketing) and 17 adsense sites (21 in total) from big Mike in Greece (as far as I know all Mikes sites are SEO'd already?).
What I want to do is SEO my four sites and link to the adsense sites.
I have Chis Taylor's SEO videos and am fairly familiar with what I have to do to bring the 4 sites into line (HTML wise), but I am not sure how I can use linking to my best advantage for all the sites.
As I mentioned there are 2 pairs of similar sites, and the adsense are all different topics.
My best, and oldest site is my storybooks site, with 34 links in google and several hundred in other search engines.
If my sites where numbered in order of page rank, and links ie
(1). site1-storybooks (2). site-2 educational (3). site3 marketing
(4) site4 marketing, up to and including all my adsense sites etc how would I link to each one?
My thinking is to link each of my sites to my #1 site and would look like this:
(1) site1 links to all other sites (20) total
(2) site 2 links to (3) and other (19)
(3) site3 links to (4) and others
Not sure if the math is correct, but would that be the general idea?
I realize that I should link to similar sites, but I am trying to utilize what I have.
I also get links from link metro (which I have been remiss in keeping up) and some articles I submited for 2 of my educational sites.
Is there a general plan for SEO? Again my thinking for each site, is to:
SEO the HTML
Add keyword density
change graphic keywords
link to all my sites
submit articles for each site
Any help, or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Paul,
Firstly work on one project at a time, a must (apart from continual linking for all).... get your book site maximising conversion and traffic.
1% conversion is the norm.... higher for JV, people with lists, etc. Decide how many products you want to sell/comfortable with and make that happen.... test, test, test to improve conversion rates/sales copy...
Drive traffic by keyword research (much/all of this in the videos) >> http://www.web-traffic-toolz.com/wordtracker.html
Then.... optimize onsite variables (html)
then do....
inbound links
reciprocal links
article distribution
press release
google sitemap
directories
affiliate programs (if applicable)
When happy move onto next site/project.
Place all "major" websites on your "Paul Mackie" site (not adsense sites)... ONLY link all other sites together that are on related topics.
For good info on this subject look at >> http://www.web-traffic-toolz.com/revenge_of_the_mininet.html
Current linking status for high rank on Google.... quality links (high pr) over quantity..... for MSN & Yahoo.... 50% quantity/50% quality, maybe even erring more on the quantity side of things for MSN.
Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the excellent info.
I have made an excel worksheet for my sites, which includes the steps you laid out and I will list them in importance based on the graphic sketch at revenge of mininet (I may be able to get the book at end of month).
Will work on my main sites first.
Just to clarify:
How do I implement testing? Let's say I change my storybooks site copy, do I run both pages, or just change one for the other and see what the results are?
You mention:

My paulmackie site (PR4 depending on what page you land) is my main adsense site, I was thinking to add all my sites into the column on the right (related sites). Are you saying to just put sites here related to education, as my marketing sites have no page rank and my storybook site has a PR of 3?

What do you mean by quantity and quality links?
Are you saying that google gives a higher page rank if I link to sites with a higher PR, and that msn and yahoo use a mixture of both quantity and quality links?
From what I can see when I analyze my links, is that I have better linking with my storybooks site 34 google, 157 yahoo and 403 MSN.
paulmackie site depends on the page you land on, but appears to be about 300 for some Search engines; not sure about google.
So, if I go by the linking sketch, I would seperate the best PR sites into main theme linking sites and link into groups of 5 with same themes in that group.
Should I put the main site links on the main index pages of each site, or just create a links page, which is what I have now?
Thanks again for your reply.

Hi Paul,
The purpose of 1 "your name/company" site is too just show what you do online and show your major/sites/fields of knowledge.... Therefore don't put your adsense sites on these as they are really just "cash generating sites" which will take away from your professional sites.
Just make the above site look professional.... don't worry about marketing it.
Group and link sites together on topic... marketing..... educational books. Don't worry about creating more pr, this will come as you build each site. In the next few years Google will be giving a more weight to sites that link to other sites that are relevant therefore linking to sites not in the same field, even your own sites is wasted time....
Your correct in your assumptions about linking.... Google, Msn, Yahoo... which all ties in with the above.
You are right about linking sketch which can continue to be expanded.
Your own sites should link together in bottom footer, run of site links... all pages on each site... see www.thewebtrafficco.com as example. All reciprocal links on links page.
Testing, one page , one variable at a time... ie, the header, sub head, guarantee, page heading, long copy/longer copy, etc. Depending on the software you are using, some to can test more than one variable at the same time, others just one.
Couple of good testers in my free book. Will be free resource in new newsletter to give tips by Mike Fortin.... Easier to test just one to start, make the most profitable variable the test subject and statrt over again until happy.
Cheers, Chris
