Kevin,
I want to thank you for your advise and willingness to help me out. I have outlined the answers to your lastest questions below.
I have visited the site quoted in your sig file and I feel that this looks very much like a "cookie cutter" site, that is the same as many others, Did you set up this site yourself or did you get it by signing up for a program somewhere?
I know that the Work At Home sector is HUGE, but not really for NEWBIES. That's is what I wanted to gear my site toward. And no, I'm not at all good enough to create a site myself, I had a web designer do it for me, it's not at all like the "Plug In Profits" or "SiteBuilt" sites that when you've seen one, you've seen them all.
As I'm sure you understand marketing on the Internet is a tough business, I have been online for over four years now and have only started to reap any real rewards over the last 18 months or so.
Since it's launch in June 05, my stats have grown and expanded especially in the last 5 months, where my unique visitors have been over 250 per month.......So far this month has been my best and it's not even over yet......as of today 297 so far. Not bad, if only I could get them to sign up for the newsletter.
What we have to look at are your strengths...Review your experience, What were you good at at school?, What interests do you have? If you can pinpoint your area of expertise then we can fashion that experience into a product or service.
I worked in radio/advertising as an office manager/admin assistant for 17 years. so Im good at numbers.....I do bookeeping, payroll, accts.payable, accts.rec. etc.....I also do my families taxes every year....
Anyway, these are my answers......I hope that you can get a sense of who I am and what I did.....
I want everyone to help out here.....if you have any suggestions on my site, and any of the stuff i've posted here, feel free to comment.
Continued Success

Hi Lavonda,
Kevin has made some great points which I will just ad a few comments.... if thats okay.
Online, the main ways to make money are.......
1. Have just a newsletter which sells affiliate programs. Usually a few of your own products is required for this to give subscribers an idea of you experience and build trust.
2. Have an site that sells many affiliate products, with product reviews on each and also a newsletter attached.
3. Sell affiliate products without your own site..... through adsense and other advertising means.
4. Have your own product/products.
5. Build adsense sites....... Revenue for these sites are best when "not" based on anything to do with online business. You get more click throughs.
Of course this is not an exhaustive list but it is the place to start.
Similar to Kevin, I have been online getting close to five years and am just now starting to see some rewards.
I chose "internt marketing" similar to Kevin as I have been in marketing and sales for most of my life.
One thing I have leaned online is that "everyone succeeds" in their own way. Yes you can learn a lot from books and other material but if you look at all the experts (or what they say), they all have built their own businesses in their own unique way.
None are the same just as how me and Kevin have built our own businesses. Yes we are both in IM, but we both have different skills and are making money from different types of websites although some of these sites we may derive income from the same resource..... ie adsense.
If you have little experience in "home based buisness", you will need to put in a lot more work than other business fields as their is a huge amount of competition.
Here is a good tool to look at overall comp online - http://www.searchguild.com/cgi-bin/difficulty.pl You will need an api key from Google to use this tool.
At the end of the day no matter what topic you choose my best advice is this.......
Choose one of the ways to make money online from the above, start that method, build it and don't stop until it works.
Do not get side tracked, do not quit and start something else, do not have six projects on the go at once, do not pass go!
Keep going until you make that one thing work. If you can't make one type of marketing or website online work when others are doing so it is no use moving to something else as you will have the exact same problem once again.
People usually quit when they are 2% away from success so the answer is to keep going until you make it happen.
Once you've chosen your business topic and how you want to make money online from the above (a plan) there are many great people on this forum who will be willing to help you out.
Cheers, Chris
