I have read many articles and seen forum posts stating that the best way in which to enter Internet Marketing is to start selling products on eBay.
Do you all agree?
Is there a simple step by step plan that I can follow?
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Regards

Hi Keith,
I guess it depends on what *you* mean by internet marketing.
Do you have a product or service you want to sell, and you're thinking of using eBay?
I'm sure there are many people who don't use eBay but who do have products and services. Depending on what you want to sell, what price range it's in, which *target market* [shoppers] you want to attract ... there are lots of questions before you get to the eBay bit.
Then there are other people who swear by eBay, I know of people who buy second hand kids' toys, wash them, take photographs, and resell, and make a tidy profit. I know of an artist who only sells her paintings on eBay.
I don't have any experience with it, but I'm sure there are others on this forum who do.
Cheers

Keith,
eBay offers a way in which you can gain experience in regards to many core items related to marketing.
Sourcing items to sell can be as easy as listing surplus items found around the house.
But eBay is more than this...You get to work on your copywriting skills as you write your own ads, You learn how to upload photos of the products you are listing, You learn how to pitch your products against your competition, You can even use eBay to help you build your first subscriber list.
eBay is basically a good training ground where you can learn multiple skills that will assist as you move forward and set up your own on-line presence.
There are many good books available that can guide you along the way...if you want some references in this regard just let me know.
Cheers

Wow, Kevin! If I had've known eBay was all that and more, I would've looked into it a bit sooner!
I'm adding it to my *List*.

Kevin,
Thanks for your comment.
I have much material on eBay and have decided to read up a little more and start listing a few items to gain some experience as suggested.
What I am intrigued by though is your comment that you can use eBay to build a subscriber list, can you explain a little more how this works please?
Regards

Hi Keith,
I'm sure you will enjoy the eBay experience, It's a great learning platform.
In regards to using eBay for list building rather than explain it can I suggest you take a look here... Auction Prospecting
Yes it's an affiliate link but I have to pay the bills as well...however it is an exceptional piece of work and it describes in detail how to build a list using eBay.
Cheers

Kevin,
Thank You for the recommendation, The Auction Prospecting eBook is excellent.
I will be implementing the program into my eBay learning curve.
It's certainly a simple path to follow and understand, ideal considering my limited experience.
I'm on the way to building my list and I will keep you up to date with my progress.
Regards
