There are many factors that one must consider when looking at ways in which to effectively promote your website.
The use of specific software is one of these...
IBP4 (Internet Business Promoter) is promoted as a great tool to assist in optimising your website and then helps you to submit to search engines and directories.
It has a number of really cool features (According to the blurb I have read) but has anyone here actually used it?
Or are you aware of any similar software?
What is your experience and or what other methods do you find effective?
Cheers

Hi Kevin,
I've tried the demo version of IBP and also own Webpositiongold and Optilink.
For some reason when I started out online I was able to get good ranking for my websites without much difficulty.
As competition climbed I lost some ranking especially on google as my main keyword "web traffic" has a lot of comp. However I still don't have much problem with getting high ranked pages with a little work.
To get good ranking requires only four ingredients (3 really)
1. Keyword density. The SE spider must recognize that your page is about your given "keyword/phrase".
2. In bound links.
3. Inbound link or "page reputation". (the link text)
4. Although not a must but extremelly helpful (especially with higher keyword competition) - being listed on all major SE's and more importantly a definate listing in both "Dmoz" and Yahoo "directory".
If for a "very high competition" keyword/phrase all things are equal of two pages in the density area, the only thing that seperates them in ranking is inbound links and page reputation.
So back to your original question..............
I now only use optilink for ranking and nothing else, mainly to get my pages right and look at my comp. Then I just build inbound links.
Optilink free demo - http://www.web-traffic-toolz.com/optilink.html
Lastly as for submitting pages, there is no need to these day. All the majors will pick you up within one week with one inbound link only.
Cheers, Chris
