Affiliate Marketing can be very profitable if you select the right program and promote it well but some areas are becoming very crowded.

What I mean here is this...some programs are very easy to sign up for and provide all of the tools needed to promote it, all you have to do is get quality traffic to the site and hope it converts into a sale for you (Not Easy)

There seems to be a trend emerging where smart marketers are seeking out top paying deals and doing all of the promotion and marketing themselves...that is, preparing their own sales copy etc.

What are you doing to increase your returns from affiliate marketing?

As a newbie to Affiliate Marketing, how does one know which are the best programs to sign up with? I've looked at so many, and it does get a bit confusing.

I have seen sites that offer gift cards to people who refer a certain number of people to shop at their sites. A rewards incentive if you will.
