Okay... Maybe I didn't out grow blogger... I thought I had, but maybe I should have stuck with it.

I have dumped my blogger blog and have installed and successfully set up word press for my new blog.

It's pretty easy to use, but there are a few things I'm not sure about...

The first one being setting up feeds for my site.

Does anyone know where I can get information on doing this from?

I have searched the codex for word press, but maybe I am blind and can't find any information?

Any help would be much appreciated.... *looking around for Steve*

Kevin, I think Steve deserves his own little space here on the forum... We'll set up a paypal donate button and in order to ask Steve questions you have to donate... Okay, maybe I should just hire Steve as my blog consultant. Do they even have those?

Now I have ANOTHER question... I've looked for this information all day. How do you put a link to the permalink or trackback at the end of every post like the comments link?

Hi Liz,

Wordpress is great...I now have three blogs all using Wordpress with another two about to start.

Have you been to the Wordpress Forum they offer a fairly comprehensive service and are very helpful.

Are you using Wordpress 1.5?

But to respond to your question, if you click on comment after your post you will see the trackback link is provided inside, from memory you do a right click and copy to trackback a link.

Here's one of my Blogs using Wordpress 1.5 eBusiness-Advisor or using Wordpress 1.2 eBizBlogger

When I click on my comments link though it doesn't give a trackback option....

I'm going to do as you suggested and go over to the word press forum. I have figured everything else out with my blog except for trackbacks, so I'm actually pretty impressed with myself. Steve would be so proud...

You know, it's funny that there are three of us talking about him now, and he still hasn't shown himself???

I saw something from him the other day (maybe it was on his blog??) I think he was having some car trouble and his usual mechanic couldn't work on it. I believe he was searching for someone to do the work.

Hi Folks,

I haven't installed WordPress for anyone yet. Only MovableType. I would need some experience with it, before I could tell you how it is done. Paul Short has set up various Wordpress blogs, so he would know. Teli from http://mildinsanity.com/ also knows Wordpress really well. I saw some of her posts where she was helping someone with it on Lynn's board. I was impressed. She knows her stuff, and doesn't seem to mind sharing. There is also a [url=http://www.forum4bloggers.com/index.php]forum for bloggers[/url] where you might be able to get specific help.

I would think if the trackback URL is not being automatically created when you make a new post, then you didn't enable this in the blog configuration. So without being familiar with this file, that would be the first place I would look. I would do this first before visiting the other forum or contacting Paul or Teli.

Oh yeah! Teli is another awesome person who knows her blog stuff. I don't know why I didn't think about her also. I tried the forum on wordpress.org, and only got big techie talk. I thought I was confused before I posted there, but after reading what others posted to my post I am REALLY confused.

Like I said, most of the stuff I was able to do myself. Installing Word Press was super easy. I've gone through all of the admin controls and just can't find anything dealing with trackbacks....

I will beat this though...

Hi Liz,

I finally got around to taking a look at your new Blog and I see you are not using a standard template, therefore that's the reason for the trackback issue you have.

Teli can probably explain the fix for you better than me...she has done numerous jobs for me on my Blogs.

I see Steve has posted her URL above or you can contact her on the TIID forum.

By the way I like your Blog...it has great appeal.

Hi Liz,

There ARE trackback links on your wordpress blog - within the bottom of each individual post. If you click on each post's title you'll be taken to it's individual page, the one with the comment form at the bottom. Above that form you should see the trackback link.

Your permalinks are actually your post titles.

Yeah, I finally got them to show up.. Or should I say Teli got them to show up. She told me how to do it... *lol* Man that chick is AWESOME on this blog stuff... You and her and Steve, keep me swimming in kick butt info..

As for the newsletter graphic at the bottom of my blog... My buddy Dima does ALL of my graphics. I have several little products out right now, and the graphics are just KICK BUTT... He only charged me $30 for the header, ebook, footer, and background design for my newsletter site.
