Agreement from me too. Same with the author's name - even if it isn't recognizable, there needs to be a name on the cover to make it more personable.

If your name isn't a "big" one in the industry, you could consider asking someone who is to write a short forward, intro, or endorsement, and then include that on the cover. ("Forward by Donald Trump", for example.)

I don't care about the cover, but before I buy an ebook I want to be convinced that it's worth the money. Need to know the background of the author. A sample chapter also is a good sales tool for me.

I agree. Cover and title are very important. If your title is no good, many people will not ever look into your e-book. It may be exactly what they need, and a great book, but they wont ever click and look into it more.

Also, I think that good cover art can be helpful. A nice cover makes the book look professional, and can catch a user's eye. Same as when you walk around a book store. Sometimes the right cover, on a book you know nothing about, will cause you to look at it, and maybe buy it.

Put some time and thought into a good cover and title can pay off very well in the sales of your e-book.

the cover is vital to grab the attention - if you do a lousy Photo shop or some sort of cheap clip art, it'll put the potential customer off right fast.

I have seens ome real cheesey covers with stock phtos and little creativity. And these are as good as professional ones, because peopel can remember what the books looks like, even though its a file.
INvesting in any type of cover is great idea reagradless if its cheesey, fancy, professional or plain. Its needed to giove the book a polished look.
