It depends on your circumstances.
Do you have the funds available to pay someone, perhaps you could consider exchanging some of your time and or experience and do a trade.
There are many options so you need to work out what is best for you but in the long run if your are going to maintain your site to an acceptable standard then I believe it's time to start learning a few skills.
There are many sites you can find online that offer good programs that you can follow to help with the basics of web design and management.
A regular on the forum Steve MacLellan has a good book that might help you as well...Steve you can chip in with the URL.
Cheers

that looks like a pretty good site. I have sometimes purchased templates and then used a very user friendly software system to edit it. If you wan to save time though I would hire someone. If you have the time, maybe consider getting a template.

I think that depends on it long term you want to be the one to maintain it. If you are going to have to eventually manage it you may want to design it so that you can learn the ins and outs. If it will be a site with little maintenance then you may want to outsource it. Just look at the goals long term and that will help you determine your goals short term.

I have bought templates before and then have had someone else edit and customize it to what I wanted. That was pretty inexpensive since I already had the template, they just had to put my logo on it.

I have gotten templates before and then been able to customize them so that they look a little different than the original. I think it still looks nice even though it wasn't done from scratch.

It is a an idea to try to exchange services with someone if you can. This way you can benefit from someone's else's expertise and in turn you can help them with your skills and knowledge.
