One has many options to which they can choose when wanting to set up a presence on the Internet.

You can learn HTML and build a website from scratch, you can use one of the many WYSIWYG editors and build a website, almost like paint by numbers or you can use a platform like Wordpress or Blogger and put up a Blog.

In addition to this you have hosted areas such as Squidoo even MySpace and Facebook.

So my question is this...what option do you use or would use and why?

I have just gotten into the wordpress thing. I saw some wordpress sites for sale at sitepoint and so I thought I would try it out. They are pretty inexpensive to just get a quick layout. I am seeing how well this works out. If it is successful I will be implementing more of these to talk about my sites.

I suppose you really need to define "Internet Presence"

Do you want to set up a personal page, a site that you can promote and sell products from or something else?

In addition to this your current skill levels come into play as well.
