Does anyone here make a living using eBay? I have heard of several people who do this and am very interested in at least supplementing my income, if not completely replacing it. I like the idea of being able to work from home, I just have not found a good model to do so. I will continue to read through the eBay posts, but would love to hear about the good and the bad of creating income with eBay.

I do not make a living with it, but I do use it as my online garage sale service. Anytime I am cleaning out my old junk I throw it on eBay. I am made money here and there with it, but nothing consistent. I would be interested to see if anyone does earn a living with it and their experience.

I to have been reading up on eBay and there are many stories around suggesting real success and sharing examples of those that do it for a living.
My concern is that eBay seems to be ever evolving so you have to work hard to keep up with the changes, what we all need is a single source of quality and up to date information.
Does anyone know if such a site or publication exists?

I figure the best source to use would be eBay itself. They provide a lot of the information needed to be successful with them. I have just found the competition is where it gets tough. I have seen a lot of things I want to sell, but I can't compete with the prices I find on there. I am wondering where people get their supplier. I have often wondered if it was the manufacture who is putting the goods up there themselves.

No I cannot say i make a living on Ebay. I think some people that do this successfully are actually involved with dropshipping. This allows people to make a profit selling products online without having to actually handle any of the merchandise. i do sometimes sell items on ebay just for some extra income, but with my business I do not have time to put much effort into ebay sales.

The following book covers the topic well, you can buy it on Amazon.
"Secrets of the eBay Millionaires" by Greg Holden
Here's a quick review of the book.
How eBay’s top sellers made their millions--and you can too!
Find out how Phil went from penniless to PowerSeller, how Drew sells custom pens for $7,000 each, how Lisa uses her professional acting skills to woo customers, and how you too can make big money on the world’s greatest online marketplace. For the first time in one volume, you’ll get inside tips and learn from the inspiring success stories of dozens of eBay millionaires--including the members of the Professional eBay Seller’s Alliance (PeSA) who together make more than $1 billion annually.
Covering business models from lone entrepreneurs to warehouse distributors to drop-off stores and featuring for a wide range of categories--including computers, electronics, books/movies/music, collectibles, and more--Secrets of the eBay Millionaires is a goldmine of information for aspiring entrepreneurs. Whether you are just starting out or already an established seller, you’ll discover that eBay is a place where anyone can change their life and make a fortune--one sale at a time.
Cheers

Thank you for the reference. I will check that out. I love reading on success. I think it just gives hope that anything can be accomplished. It sounds like those people are taking their passions and creating a living off of it. That is all I want, to love what I do and make money with it.
