My name is Roger and I am best described as a Net Newbie.
I am trying to devour all of the info I can find so I can start to build my presence on the Internet.
It sounds easier than it obviously is but so far I have scanned a lot of posts here and most offer explanations to things that I can understand so I figure I'm in the right place.
I'm looking forward to joining the discussion and offering whatever I can in return.

Welcome to the forum Roger.
What area in particular do you need assistance with?
Forum members here have a wide range of skill sets so go ahead and ask any questions you might like, you can be assured of an honest answer.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the welcome Peter.
When I describe myself as a Newbie then thats exactly what I mean, I have a very limited knowledge of the marketing side of things although I do have some computer skills.
Obviously my goal is to make a little money if I can but I don't have unreasonable expectations, I am sensible enough to know that you have to work for it, nothing in means nothing out.
I am seeking suggestions as to how to isolate those things that are necessary to get me started as I can see given the wide range of information available one could become easily distracted and achieve very little.
Any help would be appreciated.

The first thing to do is to make some money. Everything else will fall into place after that.
It was about a year after I started making money that I realized I was going to have to learn how to run a business. So I took some courses off-line.
There wouldn't have been any reason to learn how to run a business if I wasn't able to make money.
Best Regards,

Steve,
I understand the principle of making money, at least I think I do!
One exchanges his time and expertise with another party and in return he receives payment for this.
I have a full time job so I do have some capital, What I am seeking though is some advise as to how to use this capital and my knowledge to increase my income.
Is there a Step 1, Step 2 type process that one can follow or is it a little more difficult than that?

NetBiz,
Marketing online is not a paint by numbers game, well not as far as I'm aware anything.
Whilst there are some basics involved everyone tends to develop their own style or technique as they grow their business.
My advise for what it's worth is simply this, have a go, try a few things, you are sure to make the odd mistake but you will do the same even if you try learning from a textbook.
Set up a blog, they are relatively simple and start experimenting, you will be surprised how much you can learn in a short time.
